1) Homemade beauty face masks
Aicha uses turmeric as a face mask because it gives a beautiful glow. All you need is 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp cornstarch/ rice flour, mix with rose water, and apply as a facemask. Leave it for 20 mins then wash with lukewarm water, and see your glow!
2) Ultimate immune booster
Amrita puts turmeric in hot water with lemon and salt, it's an excellent immune booster. But her tip: don't use dry, packaged turmeric. It needs to be grated, dried, and ground at home, preferably organic.
3) Warming bedtime drink
Both Sunita and Issmat like to mix turmeric in hot milk at bedtime, all you need is 1-2 tbsps turmeric powder, a pinch of freshly ground black pepper, and half a teaspoon of ghee. This 'golden milk' is the perfect home remedy in the winter.
4) Quick wound healer
Bharti said: "I remember my mother used turmeric when we were young to cover the wounds when we got hurt. She'd mix a bit of turmeric in water to make a paste, and it would heal in a day or two."
